Abstract

Abstract:
The focus of studies on green entrepreneurship in MSMEs is generally descriptive, without deepening the process of its formation. The entrepreneurial learning literature that specifically discusses this process dimension is still rarely applied to the context of micro-scale craft MSMEs, particularly in developing countries. This study aims to analyze the entrepreneurial learning process that shapes green entrepreneurship practice at Yust Collection, a craft business engaged in non-metallic waste management in Malang City. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study strategy. Primary data obtained through in-depth interviews with the business owner and secondary data for triangulation were then analyzed thematically using the framework of Politis (Cope, 2005; Politis, 2005b, 2005a; Zozimo et al., 2023). Where this form of experience is not yet fully covered by existing career experience categories. The process of experience transformation took place through a combination of routine learning and deep learning triggered by various critical moments in the course of the business (business legal formalization, the COVID-19 pandemic, changes in family circumstances), with the Waste Bank community serving as a space for collective social practice. that was formed is shown by the ability to recognize opportunities and cope with the liability of newness, which ultimately shaped a green entrepreneurship practice with environmental motivation as the basis for founding the business. This study contributes by integrating the perspectives of green entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial learning in the context of micro-enterprises that are underrepresented in the global literature, identifying a learning-by-teaching pattern as an additional finding.
